Perfect Packing

As your choice to help you get your life-changing move to France off to the best possible start, we will transport your household contents for you door-to-door. You will need to do the packing to take advantage of the huge savings our service offers, so to ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible here are some useful suggestions to help you get on your way.

Be ready!

  • Make sure that you are packed and ready before we arrive to load up!
  • Don't forget to unplumb and drain your washing machine, dryer, fridge, freezer, etc before we arrive and secure their power cables.
  • Make life easier for yourselves by labelling where boxes are to go on arrival at your new home

Make the most of the space available!

  • Don't forget that you can use the storage space offered by the furniture you are transporting as extra packing space. For example, there is no need to empty a chest of drawers - everything's going to the same place after all!
  • If you want us to transport a car or a van as part of the removal, fill them as well to increase the amount of space available on the truck!

Be sensible!

  • Pack loose items in strong, stackable boxes, preferably made from double-walled cardboard
  • Fill but don't overload boxes. You don't want half empty boxes as they still occupy the same amount of space. If you can't close the lid then the boxes won't stack well.
  • Keep the total weight of each box below 25 kg. Don't forget, as this is a DIY service you are responsible for the loading and unloading of everything so pack boxes to a weight you can manage.
  • Use original packaging for electrical items wherever possible. If not, use plenty of bubble wrap and secure the power cable.

Fragile items

  • Make sure that fragile items are wrapped in bubble wrap or packing paper
  • Stack them tightly in boxes, filling any remaining space around them with newspaper or similar, so they cannot move within the box.
  • Put packing material below and above such items.

Easy to forget...

  • Don't forget to remove media such as CDs from CD players or PCs
  • Use the lock for transport mechanism on electrical goods where applicable
